Mario D'Addario was born in 1920 in a small town in the Abruzzi region of Italy. When he immigrated to the United States in 1930 he did not speak English or know American customs, but he became an American citizen and served his country in the army during World War II, achieving the rank of sergeant. After his honorable discharge, Mario married and began to raise his family. In 1949 he opened Mario's Body Shop located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mario's continued to grow year after year to become one of Bridgeport's best-known auto body shops. In the mid-1960's Mario D'Addario purchased a used car lot on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport known as Madison Motors. Then in 1968 he saw an opportunity in a little General Motors Dealership in Ansonia, CT selling Buicks and GMC Trucks. That Dealership soon moved to Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton, Connecticut where it remains today, though many changes have taken place. Nissan was added to the growing dealership in 1984, when the company doubled the size of the facility. Through the years the company has continued to grow. In August of 2000, Mario D'Addario passed away. Mario always gave back to the community in appreciation for what he felt this country gave him. Since 2000, the Dealership Group has continued to grow under the direction of his son, Tom and a very capable team of dedicated employees. In 2002 Pontiac was added to the dealership group. Nissan was then moved into its own Sales, Service and Parts retail center in 2003. With over 16,000 square feet, it also includes a child's play area, large comfortable waiting area, and parts retail display. An on-site full service Auto Body Repair was located into the dealership group in 2004. The body shop performs computerized estimates and consists of a state-of-the-art downdraft spray booth, mix room, prep station, and electronic frame machine. In 2005 the Cadillac name was added and again we grew with 2 additional acres of paved parking for display. And today we are:
